Greensburg Hometown Hero Banner program FAQ’s
How long can I participate in the Greensburg Hometown Hero banner program?
Banners are able to be part of the program for a total of three (3) years. Your first year is when you purchase a new banner, and then you are eligible for two (2) consecutive renewal years, paid for each year. This totals to three (3) years.
How much does a new banner cost?
New banners are $175.
Where do I email my photo of the hero for the application?
Email the photo for the application to events@thinkgreensburg.com. The photo should be emailed as a png, jpeg, or pdf.
Can I request where my banner is placed?
The GCDC does not accept banner placement requests. Banners are graciously hung up by Greensburg Public Works and they do not accept banner placement requests either.
Where do banners get hung up?
Banners are hung throughout Downtown Greensburg and Southwest Greensburg.
How do I pay for my banner?
Once you complete the application, you will receive an invoice in your email directing you on how to pay and where to submit payment.
Why did my banner come down in November?
The pole your banner was on is also used to hang winter holiday decorations. The banner will be down from November to January. Once the banner is put back up, you will be contacted about your new location for your banner.
Why did my banner location change after the winter holiday decorations came down?
We work diligently with our Public Works department on getting the banners hung back up after the winter holiday decorations come down. Public Works does their best to rehang banners near the same location, but it is not a guarantee. All banners will be rehung and relocated.
My banner is no longer on the pole where it was originally located. Who should I contact?
During the holidays, some banners are taken down to accommodate the holiday lights and will be reinstalled in early January. Also, due to weather conditions, sometimes banners get damaged or may be blown down. If you notice the banner is not in its known location, please contact the GCDC. We will make every attempt to locate it and have it reinstalled. The GCDC is not responsible for any lost or missing banners, and there is no compensation in time or cost to the purchaser. If the banner needs to be replaced, the cost is the responsibility of the hero’s representative.
