Salary: $20 – $25 / hour based on experience, PTO, parking spot in Greensburg

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Events Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission by coordinating and executing engaging and diverse events for the GCDC.

Job Description:

The Events Manager will play a crucial role in the Greensburg Community Development Corp. by orchestrating a series of vibrant and diverse concerts in the park. That will be the main responsibility. This role demands a passionate and creative individual who can bring people together through music and community-oriented events. The Events Manager will report directly to the Executive Director. Other events planned throughout the year include Restaurant Week (one in Jan. one in Sept.), the Hometown Hero Banners, Small Business Saturday, and other events as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the concert series,  This includes selecting musical acts, scheduling events, and managing volunteers.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning, allocation of resources, and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Vendor and Sponsorship Relations: Cultivate relationships with vendors, local businesses, and potential sponsors to secure resources and support for events.
  • Production Management: Manage event logistics, including staffing, venue setup, sound equipment, security, and transportation, to ensure safe and seamless event execution.
  • Promotion and Marketing: Recruit and collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing plans, consistent with the missions of SummerSounds and GCDC, to attract a diverse and engaged audience, including utilizing social media, email marketing, and community outreach.
  • Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with the Greensburg community, encouraging local participation and feedback to improve future events.
  • Fundraising: To include grant writing, sponsorship solicitation, and any other activities related to the development of the organization.
  • Evaluation and Reporting: Analyze event success, gather feedback, and create post-event reports for continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Other duties as the position develops and the organization grows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or successful experience in event management, marketing, business, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in event planning and execution, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, event planning software, Outlook, and marketing tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate events.
  • Broad knowledge of contemporary music scenes and trends is a plus.
  • A passion for community development and the arts.
